Hello and Welcome! My name is Emily K. Means and I am an architectural, travel, and portrait photographer. I love natural light and could look at photographs all day (thankfully that’s my job now!).
Primarily self-taught, I have studied black and white photography, color photography, and interior design. I also spent many years working for two husband-and-wife teams of internationally renown nature photographers.
I’m known for being a good listener and always being up for a game of bowling. After growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, I lived by the ocean in Santa Cruz, in the heart of New York City, and have driven across the United States three times. I am passionate about seeing how my personal perspective brings out the best in your photo shoot.
When I’m not working hard behind the camera or computer, you’ll find me reading mystery novels, volunteering with Junior League of Oakland-East Bay, eating a burrito, walking on the beach, or hiking in the Redwoods.
